Description

The Cajuput Tree originates from the Malayan coastal plains and is also sometimes referred to as the White Tea Tree. Cajeput Oil has historically been used for its ability to produce a sensation of warmth and comfort (in Australia the crushed leaves and twigs have been applied directly to relieve aches and pains). In modern aromatherapy Cajuput is still used to ease aches and pains and is an ideal essential oil for an after sport massage blend.

As a sister plant to Tea Tree it has a wide range of uses but is perhaps most beneficial for its antiseptic properties and for combating infections such as colds and bronchitis. It is also used for digestive and skin problems and for stimulating the mind. Like Ravensara, Cajuput is considered to have a more pleasant smell than Tea Tree and it is therefore a popular alternative to Tea Tree when a more fragrant aroma is required.

Safety Note:
Do not use during pregnancy.

Skin:
Cajuput has antiseptic properties and can be used to treat infection and skin conditions such as acne and psoriasis.

Mind:
This oil can help to stimulate the mind, aid concentration and enhance clarity of thought.

Body:
Its antiseptic properties are beneficial for the respiratory and urinary tracts and for fighting infections such as colds, bronchitis and laryngitis. Its pain relieving properties also make it useful for arthritis, rheumatism and general aches and pains.

Blends well with:
Clary Sage, Lavender and Geranium.
