Description

5ml

Species: Rosa damascena
Plant family: Rosaceae
Origin: Bulgaria
Note: Middle
Extraction method: Steam distilled

Rose Otto has light, sweet, floral top notes with deep rosy undertones. Many people believe there is no finer essential oil. Rose gives a feeling of well-being and happiness and is a valuable oil in skincare and for treating female-related problems.

Rose Otto has often been described as the 'queen of flowers' and many aromatherapists believe there is no finer essential oil than Rose Otto. It is extracted by steam distillation from the fresh flowers and during the process the temperature must be carefully controlled so as not to damage the delicate aroma of the resulting essential oil.

Rose Otto is considered by some aromatherapists to be purer and superior to Rose Absolute which is extracted with solvents. Rose Otto has a more delicate and subtle aroma to Rose Absolute, which is stronger and has a more typical rose aroma. Rose Otto is more expensive as there is a smaller yield from steam distillation, however the therapeutic properties of the two oils are virtually the same.

Although it is expensive, Rose is one of the best all-purpose essential oils for your collection. Rose is a tender, uplifting and soothing oil. It not only helps fight depression, grief, anger and fear, but it is also a tonic for the heart and digestive system. Rose is also the first choice for helping with female-related problems and is one of the best essential oils to use on the skin.
